We have been handling the chicks today. They were very lively and jumping about a lot. We noticed that they have now started to grow their feathers too.
We are really EGGSited!

Unfortunately, our chick project has finished for this year but you can see photos and videos on the Year 2 and Reception blogs above. Thank you for looking.

Watch our chicks hatch LIVE! Click the link below to watch events unfold.
The children in Reception and Year 2 are really excited this morning as they have just taken delivery of some incubators and eggs that are getting ready to hatch. The eggs have to remain in the incubator for a few days but we are expecting them to start hatching from Wednesday afternoon.
We thought it would be nice for the children to be able to follow the progress of the eggs and chicks with their family and friends, so we have set up a webcam in one of the incubators to enable you to see what is happening and follow events live at home.
To access our live feed please click the picture of the chick below and feel free to share this with family and friends. PLEASE NOTE: The live feed runs on flash so won’t work on iOS devices.
Safer Internet Day on 5th February 2013
Posted on February 3, 2013 by Mr Castle
Tuesday 5th February is the international Safer Internet Day (SID). The theme for this year is “Connect with Respect”
It is about looking at what you do online; the things you can create, the games you play, how you interact with each other, the websites you use. It is also about what every child should be able to do online, and the responsibilities you have when using online services.
Here is a short video. What do you think this is about? Can you see how it fits in with the theme of SID 2013?
Don’t forget to stay SMART online. Check out the bottom of the school Home Page.
You can find out more with the cartoons at “The Adventures of Captain Kara, Winston and the SMART Crew”, which can be found here: http://www.childnet.com/kia/primary/smartadventure/default.aspx
Mrs. Chappell’s and Mrs. Pipkin’s Class have been using Skitch
Posted on January 17, 2013 by Mr Shanks
As part of their theme, the children in Mrs. Chappell’s and Mrs. Pipkin’s class have been using the Skitch app on the iPads to describe a character from a Fairy Tale. Finley and Stevie-Louise have been describing a witch and, using their phonics, have tried to spell all of the describing words themselves. Well done to you both! What do you all think? Can you think of any other words you could use to describe the witch? What do we call describing words?
